Driver CV sample (Kenya): free download and how to write yours
Updated 16 October 2026
For driving jobs in Kenya, employers check a few things before they read anything else: your licence class, your record, and whether you know the routes. This page shows a full driver CV written for that, and you can download it free. Jump to the sample.
Put these near the top
- Licence class in your headline: Driver (BCE, PSV). Many ads filter on it.
- Your record: years without an accident or traffic offence, if true.
- Certificate of Good Conduct and its year, under certificates. Many employers ask for it.
- Routes and vehicles: the towns you know and what you've driven (saloon, van, 3-tonne truck, 14-seater, motorbike).
Work points written for driving jobs
Copy the shape, not the numbers. Use your own real figures.
- Delivered goods to [15 to 20] shops a day across [Eldoret, Iten and Kapsabet] on a [3-tonne truck].
- Collected cash and M-Pesa payments and handed in balanced delivery records every evening.
- Did daily vehicle checks (oil, tyres, brakes, lights) and reported faults early.
- Kept a clean record: no accidents and no lost goods in [3] years.
- Drove a 14-seater on the [Eldoret to Kitale] route, up to [4] round trips a day, keeping to NTSA rules.
- Planned routes to avoid traffic and cut late deliveries.
Boda boda and matatu work counts
Write it plainly and professionally. "Boda boda" becomes Motorcycle Delivery Rider; matatu work becomes Matatu Driver, [Sacco name]. Use the hustle to CV tool if you're not sure how to word it.
Skills to list
Defensive driving, daily vehicle checks, route planning, delivery records, cash and M-Pesa handling, customer care, first aid, Kiswahili and English.
Common mistakes
- Not saying the licence class, or burying it on page two.
- Listing only "driving" as a duty. Say what, where, how much and your record.
- Putting your ID or licence number on the CV. Bring the documents to the interview instead.
